How do you get rid of cloudy film on glasses?
The next trick would be to stop the dishwasher before it reaches the drying cycle and remove whatever you want to keep from getting cloudy. It’s like the “cure-all” for home cleaning projects! If you have plenty of glassware to shine, I recommend letting them soak first in a mixture of one part water to 1 part white vinegar. After soaking for a while, scrub with a soft rag and the calcium deposits and water spots should wipe quickly.
This phenomenon is because of the deterioration on the glass surface, which causes micro-scratches. Etching usually happens during washing with abrasive agents or tools such as kitchen steel wools. They are wiper-shaped makeup remover swabs equipped with optical properties that do
the minerals in the hard water will scratch or etch the glass. Once that occurs, the cloudiness can’t be removed. Then i started adding about 1/4 cup of white vinegar to underneath of the dishwasher when I ran it. Adding the vinegar to the dishwasher will keep this from happening again and can slowly take away the build-up on the glasses. I have hard water and my glasses and silverware were bad. Now I simply dump a bit of vinegar in the bottom of the dishwasher and use regular detergent. There are always a couple methods to keep your glasses from getting cloudy again after cleaning them up.
Polish Remover
The tricky part is that it’s extremely difficult to learn the difference until you try the vinegar et. There’s the perfect video on YouTube in which a guy actually removes and polishes a glass piece with engraving onto it. Of course you understand that he in essence sanded the art off and repolished with special tools. I’ve not tossed the delightful dessert plates yet, but I am going to eventually. I just know there is a market for glass polishers that are willing with the patience to treat our special finds if we are ok with the price of that labor. There are several ways to clean your cloudy glasses with vinegar. It is possible to simply soak a sponge in white distilled vinegar and scrub your glasses.

However, most of these abrasives or the grains of baking soda are much too soft to work. Hi Kim, sorry concerning the plate situation and I really haven’t any tips either on how best to get them to be clean and shiny. How about trying that LemiShine or just do a crafty using them. I hope you find out the situation with the plates.
