While Ryan was getting his bachelor’s degree in social work, he engaged in doing therapy with troubled teens with the purpose of helping them overcome the challenges that were holding them back. These therapeutic skills transferred well when Ryan continued to get his master’s degree in social work, where he found himself working at a residential treatment facility doing therapy with struggling youth. Ryan then continued to get his second master’s degree in the field of industrial organizational psychology. Using this degree Ryan has done organizational consulting in the fields of team performance, leadership, employee development, and program evaluation. However, he started to believe that his career path did not offer enough purpose and fulfillment for him.

He then made a decision to continue his education and attend medical school at American University of the Caribbean, accompanied by a three year residency in Family Medicine at Providence Hospital Southfield in Michigan. Dr. Conklin is really a Diplomat of Family Medicine and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He could be also a Rural Clinical Professor for Oregon Health Science University.
