There’s a lot of gossip and lazy people get rewarded and the hard workers just get handed more work and the compensation doesn’t match the workload. Management plays favorites and doesn’t ask the lazy employees to intensify their game. Instead they just hand the lazy employees workers to those who actually work. My department was treated separately from the rest of the company and the segregation was very toxic. Money hungry company, doesnt care about employees or the family. High stress volume, rude coworkers, feeling voiceless, constantly feeling of making the wrong decision.
Oh, and don’t have a much an ounce of an individual life. 3 weeks of the month you will work 6 days in a row and each and every Monday you are there for 11 hours. Everyone fends for themselves when it comes to training. I was working in an office that had 2 other opticians to teach me. It had been stressful really slow work load that i also didn’t like.

Everything is really a team effort which is great once the people work very well, but if someone doesn’t carry their share it hurts everyone. The work is pretty repetitive and once you get it down it isn’t challenging. Paid training and certification and you could move around within the business to understand all positions.
