What brand of progressive lenses does Walmart use?
Assuming you are in the US, I’m guessing for whatever reason, eye doctors charge more for exams in your area. There has to be some regional differences between your various Walmart stores.
I’ve a bifocal in a single side and a no bifocal in the other side. I work for Wal-Mart and have for 5 years in a little town called Cheboygan in Michigan. I think that each Walmart store has a minumum of one reasonably knowledgeable optician, but they are not on-duty always. Well, my dad just left Walmart to return out into private practice and I think it is safe to say this depends on the Walmart concerning how educated the staff is. He called me to ask what progressives they dispensed because no one in the Vision Center who was a worker could answer him when he asked. They have so many different versions of the same thing they can cofuse all of you.

Head to among our in-store Vision Centers for the new branded frame, and knowledgeable staff will fill your prescription lenses for you. Or come the Vision Center for a watch exam and contacts too. You’ll find basic single-vision lenses, line bifocals, and no-line bifocals at everyday low prices. In addition, lightweight plastic lenses have free scratch resistance and a 12-month breakage warranty. Here’s the scoop on what you’ll find at Walmart for everything you need to check fashionable and see clearly.
While you can still get glass in the event that you search, most places avoid it because of the weight and prospect of injury if the glass breaks.
Does Walmart Replace Eyeglass Lenses?
When I last checked my local Walmart, it was $49 for plastic lined bifocal lenses and $110 for lined polycarbonate. The polycarbonate also included anti-reflective, UV, and anti-scratch coatings. Maybe the eye doctor at Walmart can at the very least tell you what your prescription should appear to be for computer glasses, let’s assume that isn’t what they ordered you. I received a complete exam from the great doctor, and purchased nice frames for 25 dollars. No line plastic bifocal lenses were 40 dollars each. Exam was 50 dollars plus 10 dollars for the pupil dilation exam.
- Anti-Reflective, Polycarbonate, Trivex, Digital, many progressives, transitions…EVERYTHING!
- If you bring your personal frames, you would also need a current prescription, however they use frames purchased elsewhere for an extra $10 .
- Walmart Optical, Visionworks, America’s Best, etc. are the ‘cheaper’ optical chains around, however for anyone who is choosing upgrades you should know you will be spending money on it.
I believe the Accolade is just a lens for china and taiwan. Probably renaming the Physio due to product positioning and such with different markets. Similar to how the Crizal Sun is call the Xelios in Canada.
Crizal ® Prevencia ® lenses provide all the great things about no-glare lenses and help drive back Harmful Blue Light. Crizal Prevencia lenses, coupled with a lens embedded with blue light filtering technology, can reduce exposure to Harmful Blue Light by up to 20% while also providing UV protection. Because Wal-Mart targets providing cost-friendly options, at times the quality of the product suffers. Wal-Mart operates as a discount retailer, so their approach requires them to provide products that are lower in pricing, but can also be of lesser quality. On the contrary, prescription reading glasses are ideal for those that require major vision correction. Varilux® X Series™, featuring Xtend™ Technology, is our most advanced progressive lens available.
